Thumbs up The Not Quite "North" Northeast Thread

There seems to be a lot of us on here from PA, NY & NJ, I figured we could use our own thread to discuss our local hills, weather, meetups...etc

Where have you guys been riding so far this year? I went to camelback early in the season and hit up Jack Frost the past two weekends and had good conditions there.

Unfortunately its supposed to warm up this week, hopefully we don't lose too much coverage. I was thinking about making the hike up to Elk this Saturday but the forecast right now is calling for rain

Been to VT a few times and Windham once last Wednesday. Windham was pretty good but had some ice patches. I'm heading to creek tomorrow, hopefully they open up some more trails.

Went to Mt Snow last week for 2 days. The first day there was literally no ice, pretty solid condition for the northeast imo. Second day was pretty good too, but near closing time the more popular trails had some ice. Overall was good though.

Big Boulder, Hunter, Camelback, Gore, and Whiteface so far for our area.

Vail, Breck, Winter Park for CO trip.

Elk is my favorite place in PA but never see any discounts there.

This week's weather is looking bad for our area.

Every weekend?? I'm all green with envy right now.

I went to Stratton last week and my next trip will likely be to Okemo on the 26th (next time I will have a chance to go). PRAYING the advanced forecast remains true and they get the 7" inches reported. I typically use Emilios or OvrRide's bus trips to go.

Damn that's a hike. I'm in South Jersey, I wish I had the energy and gas to do that. I grew up about an hour and a half south of Stratton. I'd love to be up there every weekend.

So far this season...
*Hunter (really early in season, 2/3 real trails open - wasn't much fun but hey better than nothing - went back again about a week and a half ago, much more tolerable)
*Bromley (day 1 of that huge storm we had after Christmas - GNAR!!!!)
*Stratton (day 2/3 of storm - I love Stratton grew up on it, despite it being "corporate". Sick glade runs in the Sunbowl - Kinderbrook Ravine ALL DAY!)
*Belleayre (some decent trails but overall I don't think I'll be going back - WAY too much hiking)

That being said I am a fiend. I must go more. ANYONE from NYC area feel free to PM me maybe we can coordinate with rental cars, lodging, etc. I'm usually not up for day trips because they are a tease, 2-3 day trips preferred.

After this warm front pulls out we could be looking at some real deal cold.. depending upon what we get coming through during that period temps would definitely be right for snow. At worst, anything lost during this warm-up would be easily covered by snowmaking. For people like us, we should hope that thecold pattern lasts into February when we typically have some good opps for storms.

I have been to Camelback and Hunter a few times already... Hunter this past Sunday was pretty solid. Should be spring like this weekend around these parts.

Would like to get back out to Elk.. but haven't had a chance yet. Have two Stowe trips planed and will be heading somewhere west in March.
