I guess I have been delusional for 15 years of snowboarding by continuing to push myself to be better and do things today that I was unable to do yesterday. It has been fun, but man, I guess I have really been rolling the dice according to PowderMonkey.
Seriously, you don’t think there is a difference between alpine racing and normal people snowboarding for fun and pushing their abilities? If you are smart, you can easily learn to ride black diamond runs with powder without getting hurt. In all honesty, I am just messing with you a little, but I am also trying to help you understand that you really are provoking most of what is coming your way. Clearly some of the people on this forum are “meaner” than others and type stuff they would never say to anyone in person (some people type stuff they would actually say in person because they just don’t care). But let’s be honest for a second, you are delusional if you don’t think you haven’t provoked anything by acting like you know more than anyone on here when you’ve said yourself that you’ve only snowboarded 4 times. |

I agree. If you have the ability. But you're going to have to control your speed. If you go down the mountain extremely fast/"bombing it" regardless whether it's blue/green/black especially on hardpack(or worse ice) conditions you will eventually get injured. This is common sense. That's what I meant to say it. Anyway, this is totally off topic! People hijacked this thread with irrelevant conjecture and then blame me! I asked a simple question. You guys are clearly just trying to keep me going.

How do you think people acquire that ability?

I ride black runs all the time and I don't leaf down, and I don't go 40 mph....especially in powder. That is what we were talking about here. Once you have the skills to ride a black run on a powder day you will realize that it isn't that hard, you don't go that fast, and it is SUPER fun. |

Nobody ever suggesting doing this. People suggested finding powder in other places (i.e. off the trail or on a non-groomed black) and somehow you got to the point where you are talking about bombing on hardpack and ice? Talk about off-topic.

Who the hell cares what I or someone else rides!? Whatever you like to do lol I have fun riding greens and blues. You like riding the blacks. Good for you. Maybe I'll enjoy blacks too one day, but I'd still enjoy cruising powder on blues and greens. No reason you can't ride powder on the blues or greens assuming there aren't big flat spots and it's also dependent on how much powder. This is the east coast. How much snow is going to dump in 12 hours anyway? Some freshies are fun. OK, this is getting on my nerves now. No reason to continue arguing with strangers on an internet forum about a really silly argument. Last edited by PowderMonkey; 01-23-2013 at 01:48 PM. |

Sure, maybe you didn't mean that, but I guarantee that it sounded that way to most of the experienced snowboarders on this forum. |
