I have been reading lot about this mountain. They have great groomed runs mostly black diamonds. It is supposed to be the biggest one in the northeast but they only have 5 lifts, a bit weird...
Anyone knows how to get there? (without renting a car that is), none of the bus operators have busses there? It's a bit lengthy trip takes about 8 hours I think but I really want to try them sometime this season Casablance Glades and Chutes, looks amazing Casablanca Glades & Chutes at Saddleback Maine in the Rangeley Lakes Region Anyone been there, any good? or know which busses go there? Definetly not a day trip destination though

It is not the biggest, you are thinking of Sugarloaf. Don't think any buses head there though I may be wrong.
Saddleback is a good mountain, but if you are looking for a resort, Sugarloaf is the place to go. Walk right out of the condo onto a lift, plus bars and stores right on site. One of the biggest verticals in the east with above treeline boarding at the summit. 1000+ acres of terrain with tons of glades and trails. Huge park too, though I don't ride park. Might be able to take a quick flight into Portland and rent a car or take a bus from there. |
