Looks like the area will be getting a significant amount of snow Thursday and Friday. I'm watching the weather closely. May have to take one of those days off from work.
Got really lucky being at Jay on a SERIOUS pow day. It was incredible. Trees unlike anything I've seen. Definitely worth it but confirm the conditions don't gamble. I can see Jay being quite unenjoyable in icy conditions.
For Jay, try to go up for a 2 day trip. Ride Jay 1-2 days and hit Smuggs on the way home. The drive is quite long and is kind of a waste unless you spend a couple of days there.
It rained yesterday afternoon and temps were in the 40's. And then cooled off and the slush froze over. What did you expect?
Hunter is a great place on powder days. I went last year on an evening they got dumped on. Stayed the night and awoke to 10" of new snow and got to lay fresh lines up until the afternoon.
