New years trip to Whitefish

Hey guys, I'm planning a new years trip with the girlfriend. Being from Edmonton AB we are going to make the trip down to whitefish, stopping over at castle mountain and fernie along the way. What i'm looking for advice on is lodging as well as places to apres ski (restaurants/bars).
We are early 20s but not looking to send it with a bunch of college kids and get rowdy. Basically just looking for a chill spot to stay that is not extremely expensive (but not a dive either) and has a younger demographic. Neither of us have shredded in the states before so we are really looking forward to it and hope it'll be a sick experience.
Any other tips or advice from locals or those who have been there about lines and the best spots to ride are more than welcome as well! We are both fairly advanced riders and are looking to hit some sweet spots outside of the groomers and park.

cheers

Fernie has a hostel that is crazy cheap, looks pretty nice actually as well. Never been there but it's called the raging elk hostel if you wanna check it out. Could probably hit castle from there as well.

hey!

funny you should ask, i just heard this afternoon that a brand new hostel just opened here

Whitefish Hostel | Affordable Lodging in Whitefish, Montana | Places to Stay in the Flathead Valley

looks nice...not so up on lodging as a usually sleep at home! but there are a lot of reasonable places south of town that are o the shuttle line, like Pine Lodge or best western. As for apresski i go to the Hellroaring or Bierstube that are up there on the mountain, or down in town for i hangout and great food i go to Craggy Range. Wasabi sushi is where we celebrate, 2 ppl is probably $60

whatever you do book it now cuz you have chosen the one and only 'busy' time of year, even at that, lines are not so much of a problem, probably 10min wait max on the front, then ppl migrate the back til that fills up, then back to the front, then the day is over, haha
