Don't they decide which they will open based on the conditions? I didn't figure they new anything more than what they posted. I don't know when they decide on which will be open.

Well last time I guessed that MEX would open the next day and it did. Tonight I'm guessing that HRM will open tomorrow along with all the lifts running today. It's more than a guess though, call it an educated guess.

If you want to know for sure check Meadow's site late tonight. They will probably announce anything new they plan on opening tomorrow.

All i can say is holy shit are you guys in for some fun. Just got back from a nice 5 hour trip up there today...fucking unbelievable powder...literally up to my waist or higher(im 5'5", although honestly i tried to keep it below my knee's since I am still fairly new to the sport and didnt feel like digging myself out.
Thats not to say it didnt happen a few times when i got cocky or didnt realize how much there was lol...it was absolutely incredible, I found out fairly early in the morning that almost all of Daisy bowl was barely tracked through at all off of MHE so i'd cut over there for some fun. The powder was just SOOOO soft, fluffy and light..you could plow through it ...

Definately put the new SL-R through its paces as being able to fly through powder...I will probably nurse my wounds tommorrow(doing that much powder takes a lot out of you) and go back up Sunday since i've already been up several times this week already...

Prepare for some nasty lines though if you arent a single, even if your with others i'd suggest all lining up in the singles line if you want to get through MHE at a reasonable speed.

Probably the best day(snow wise) i have ever had at Meadows in the last 2 years i've been going. Even the "pro" skiers i go with that go 40+ times a year agreed it was one of the best they had ever seen.

Hopefully Snowolf reads this..what the fuck is up with those stupid badge readers...seriously the entire day the scanner nazi's(atleast one of them was) wouldnt let you go until he had scanned the entire line..meanwhile groups of 2 or 3, or even empty chairs go by as i stand in the singles line. Not sure if you can bitch or who i should bitch at, but 2 people is not enough scanners at places like MHE especially when its the only major lift open at the lodge. It made much longer lines than necessary and waaaay too many empty chairs...today was a MINOR day being as a lot of people took the day off before Christmas holidays..this weekend until the kids go back to school is going to be way worse as im sure you know, and theres gonna be a lot of pissed off people if it keeps going that slow..
I never thought i'd say i would much rather prefer Bachelors cattle gate scanners to what you guys have going on, its pretty ghetto seriously...you guys should be using RFID chips or something you can scan more easily, not damn bar codes..ok im done ranting..

Oh and as for lifts, expect everything today to be open listed above..also buttercup..which only opens on weekends will be open. Shooting star is still a bitch to get too without a ton of speed or taking off and walking up the hill.

and here you go..

"The snow keeps falling and we keep opening up more of the mountain! Saturday Hood River Express will begin daily 9 - 4 operation, and with it the skier services center will operate for ticketing, lockers, bath rooms and food at the Renaissance Cafe. That means we'll have all three parking lots open (main, annex and HRM) with shuttles to provide guest transport in between."

Wow, has anyone else thought of using RFID stickers and a wand or even a walkthrough arch? That would be an amazingly good idea.
