Saturday I managed to find some decent snow halfway down skyline in that sparse tree area where you go like you are going towards the skyline run then cut hard right, and also hit up the tye mill area a bit. Showcase I found a bit of decent snow on the right going down but had to map out a line due to all the trees sticking out, but ended up having a blast there actually once I figured out a route.

All in all I had a blast despite the zero degree weather (thank you layering and balaclava) and my board definitely needed to be waxed. While the snow wasn't great, I still had a great time.

Haha yea I keep hearing about how bad the temps are, glad I got some conditioning in at Whistler! It was 6 degrees in the village and windy as hell up top, don't even know how cold it was. That's a brutal way to start the season for you though!

Sounds like you had a good time so that's rad. I really wish these low temps would be here with some precipitation :-(

the low temps didn't seem to bother me. I was still shedding layers half way through the day

Rode Stevens on Friday, waaaaay better than expected. Kinda heavy snow down low, but was good up high. Felt more like 6" or so up higher, and nobody was charging through the trees at all so I had good POW turns for most of the day. Looks like we got another storm coming at the end of the week, keep your fingers crossed!

Saturday had decent snow, but a BRUTAL amount of people, skyline and hogs were waaaay too long. Working down the right side of Chief was decent snow, especially near the bottom.

Until the backside opens up, or Snoqualmie, the lines are just going to be out of control though. Here's hoping for more snow.

I was there Friday as well and totally agree about the snow. I stayed up high most of the day and got some sweet turns in. "go fast" snow for sure, you could feel the chunder underneath if you tried to take it slow or really lay into a turn. Lines weren't bad either!

Saturdays lines did suck, snow was still fun though despite the rain Friday night. Today was a different story... Everything was that damn refrozen chunder crap. Took a few buttchecks that I'm sure I'll be feeling tomorrow.

I know it's still pretty early but man I can't wait for some real snow!

Saturday is shaping up to be a nice powder day as long as the temps stay down. Hopefully they'll open the backside finally otherwise it'll be a complete shitfest on the front side.

We were their Friday and we had a great time, Tye had the best snow we thought.

I just wanted to try out my new Cuda w/S-rocker, I haven't owned a rocker board since '88ish, so I was skeptical of going back. I can say it performed to all my expectations, now the next test knee deep pow, so bring it on mother nature.

Just curious, any of you ever stop at the Sultan bakery on your way up ? I've been stopping there getting a sandwich (turkey, bacon, swiss) to go for years, but last Friday I think they had Stevie Wonder making sandwiches, not up to the bakeries standard. New owners ?
