W!tches T!t, etc.
damn, trying to decide if, in the long run, this is a good thing? setting the base for the season, etc...saturday is opening day, gonna be one nippycrusty mf-er
they say it could be the coldest snap in 40 years here!...much preferable to the opposite for sure...still, stoked!
This will make the locals happy. They were all complaining that they hadn't had a bad winter in about 20 years and they were wanting a couple to drive out some of the crowd that's been flocking there.
crowd avoidance never seems to be much of a problem...i was up there on the busiest day last year, out of curiosity i watched the time: 11 mins wait...not to mention the singles line (where i am 99% of the time)...its about to get even less crowded toowith the new chair/runs next season...woooooo
...it's come to this now, just out on the F
Whitefish Mountain Resort
Dear snow fans, the good news is we have the snow. The "bad" news is it's getting cold around here. We've made the following update with regard to Opening Day:
The forecast for tomorrow’s Opening Day has shifted in a colder direction since we released details about Opening Day yesterday afternoon. Currently the forecast is calling for temperatures near 20 below 0 F. and winds from the north at 13 MPH with gusts up to 21 MPH.
If the current forecast holds, there is a good chance we will close the upper mountain for the safety of our guests and our employees. Should that be the case, we will consider opening lower mountain chairlifts: 2, 3, 6 and Big Easy Carpet and offering a discounted lift ticket of $40 for ages 13-64 and $25 for ages 7-12 and 65-69.
We will make this decision as early as we can in the morning, and monitor the conditions throughout the day.
