The Baker Gap

Anyone here ever done it? I'm thinking it's on my bucket list for the next few years. Want to perfect my method this year, and do the gap maybe next year. I want to get a friggin awesome picture from the jump.

So, if you've done it, how was it?

From the pics it doesn't look bad, like maybe a 50-60 foot jump? High risk if you miss the landing but assuming you start far enough up and make the down slope it doesn't look bad at all. Does the landing get tracked out?

You have been sitting in the sauna way too long. Your nuts.

It's pretty big with high consequences, that's for sure. Not sure what the drop in or landing looks like, but from the vids I've seen, both look sketchy.

Would not hit.

It's not just the height over the road, but the sketchy-ass run in through trees that you have to hit at 100mph. It's no park booter.

It appears time of the year is important as well. These fellas screaming like they are Shawn Farmer and the gap doesn't look too impressive at all.

Lol !!! Those clowns are riding down to the road's edge and jumping off a little kicker they built on the side. That's not the proper launch point from the rocks that are 40 feet above the road. Those idiots aren't even high enough to clear a minivan.

linvillegorge 12-25-2013 09:16 PM

Yep, that's definitely not the "true" Baker Gap. It's also quite obvious that their drop in was not up to the task.

Have never done it but have watched and know folks that have hit it. Its all about choosing the day, you can't overshoot it and its a nice steep landing. So it just a matter of choosing a good day to land, packing the run in for speed and balls up.
