I'm heading up tomorrow, should be an interesting day. you access the upper mountain from that lift, and the south bc is a short hike from unloading. crazy

Is that the same slide that they posted video of yesterday taking out trees?

You PNW guys have a more sketch snow pack than Colorado this year so far. Having a hard time wrapping my head around it.

there's a lift that drops off on a hill just below this one that was taken out which appears to still be open. no other lifts would be affected... although with temps getting into the 40's tomorrow I don't know what all they are going to open after something like this happened. their website also mentioned that a green run below the lift that was taken out is going to be closed for weeks due to debris. this run is my go to cruiser/side hit/tree run. oh well, stevens 2014/15 passes go on sale this week and I had planned to buy one anyway

I think the video they posted went up before the late afternoon when this happened, but they were definitely bombing in the area that day so it could have been related. interesting that the blog post doesn't address the lift being destroyed

The video they originally posted was from control work on Sunday afternoon, which was a run called "Employee Housing" further on the north side of the resort. Campbell Basin is what slid yesterday. Bear Pits also went to ground as well. The huge amount of rain we've gotten is really affecting the snowpack.

Heh, kind of funny you say that. I was chatting with one of the NWAC guys yesterday and he said the stability has gotten better. If this is better it must have really sucked...
