Mt. Hood - Thanksgiving ?

I rode Timberline for the first time in May and had a great time! Im thinking of taking my family there for Thanksgiving.

Can anyone tell me what I can expect? How good should the snow be by then? What about crowds - would it be totally outrageous? Empty?

Thanks for any help.

Good on you for taking the family out. Hood has got something for all levels (except super gnar) so it should work out well.

The way this fall is going, 90% chance of being open with a fair to good base. Adams and Hood both received fresh snow above 9000' last night.

It all depends on the snow. No fresh snow in a week, crowds won't be bad. Fresh 10" dump the night before you go up, it will be crowded. It's a day area with relatively cheap passes. Everyone cherry picks the days they go up.

Southwest is definitely the way to go - I live about 2 hours from the Dallas airport, but its always worth the drive. I love SWA! and the bag policy rocks compared to all the other airlines! Easy Easy! Im watching their prices as my family and I decide on the trip.
