I hear you on Portlandia, I think it’s really funny but, at times, it’s not much of an exaggeration of reality.
I like Portland a lot but it has more to do with my friends there than anything else. As far as the people who live there, I know what you mean but I like it for the most part or can at least deal with it. My friends who’ve always lived there just sort of roll their eyes at much of it. There may be idiots everywhere on fixed gears but at the same time the town affords people a fair bit of freedom due to the cost of living being relatively inexpensive. I like that Portland is so eclectic but, at the same time, I’m one of the people whose interests intersect with a good portion of that so I’m a little bias. On a side note, if anyone is looking for a good barber check out Oak Barbershop in Southeast. Oak Barbershop RIP Lucky Beaver. |

Shit dude... I do need a new barber. My sniff test is if they have playboy in their magazine selection. I dont typically read it but that to me is the foust indication of a legit barber. My lady one should give me a beer or whiskey and allow smoking cigars while getting haircut. MY haircut would be 30 min but I would hangout and talk shit for 2 hours. I need a place like that

No playboy in the magazine section, it's just a tiny shop with one barber so often you won't even need to be sitting there for long or even at all. Gus likes to keep things organized with appointments so that prevents a long wait list but he'll take any walk-ins too. The vibe there is traditional but with a clean, modern edge. As far as shooting the shit, Gus is a great guy to talk to. |

meadows shits all over timberline. period.
the reason timberline is so laid back is because unless you're a park rat its just a flat resort for noobs to suck on. the day meadows get their park shit dialed is the day timberline is only relevant in the summer. Palmer terrain sucks, Mile sucks - Vista and Cascade destroy them. easily 3 times as many natural drops, jumps and windlips at meadows simply because of the side of the mountain's weather it's on. damn near all resorts offer early season pass prices (50% off or so) and then jack the price back up once the season starts. if tline is letting it stay low for longer its either because they're hurting for pass sales or they're just being cool because they have the only year-round snowpack in the lower 48 and the start/end of their season can be fuzzy to some
