Three Days three Mtns - Snowboarding Forum

Need some advice. I have not been back to Seattle for a few years. I just booked my Flight for Jan 12(Sat) till 16th(Wed). I want to hit Baker, snoqualmie and stevens over the Sun, Mon, Tue. Base camp in Everett at the end of each day. Question is in which order? I was thinking Baker on Sunday because I would be fresh and then Snoqualmie with Stevens on Tuesday because its a little more mellow.

But I keep thinking how epic Baker would be during the week with less traffic, or is the point moot, because its always busy?

Basically Im not a local anymore so I dont have my hand on the pulse so to speak. Any advice welcome.

I think I'd do Snoqual first, then Stevens, then BAKER. Stevens and BAKER are the two mtns you want to be at if fresh snow is in the forecast.

If there's fresh snow at BAKER regardless of weekend or midweek, there wont be a square inch that doesn't have a track through it. Midweek at Stevens is pretty killer, I still find untouched on my last run down.

If you can wait until the last minute, I would pick the mountains with the best forecasts on each day. Baker will likely have the most snow, so I would pick the day that looks like it will have the most fresh snow...this is all assuming you love riding powder.

Another thing to consider is that Alpental is not open on Mondays. So Monday is out if you mean Alpental when you say Snoqualmie. Also, if it snows a lot on Sunday night and all of Monday, Alpental can be amazing on Tuesday morning. It can be real crowded because everyone somehow finds a way to not be at work when there is a lot of snow on a Tuesday morning, but if you get lucky you could find youself with some really deep powder those days.

Oh, and Baker mid-week if there is a lot of snow in the forecast would be awesome. All 3 hills will have a good amount of people whenever there is fresh snow, but I don't think Baker gets too crazy during the week.

Alpental can get packed during the week if there is snow. It's so close to seattle that many people just ride a few hours and still get into work late in the morning.

You're staying in Everett so I'd say ride Baker 2 days and hit Stevens for 1 to mix it up.

Really tracking the pow, Gonna put this new NS (Cobra) brothers in arms board through its paces.

Alpental is closed on Mondays? Ok then yeah that will help with the planning.

I probably dont realize how much Seattle has grown since I was home last. If all the city kids are hitting snoqualmie then maybe an extra day at baker will be the ticket. This is all great stuff guys.

remember mid Jan tends to be cascade concrete season...and
will you legs last 3 days at baker

Don't waste money on a lift ticket to snoqualmie if you are staying in Everett. Stevens and baker. Love stevens midweek and baker is dope anytime.

I think you guys are right. I think im going to try baker on sunday, stevens on monday then let the conditions determine tuesday. If my legs are smoked then that may play into it as well.

Either way its going to be awesome. Hanging out with my high school buddies, reliving the glory days and all that. And as far as concrete cascades, im in the midwest now and these hills get crazy, crazy ice!
