MHM Night News

Bad: It rained today.

Good: Open for nights starting Wednesday.

Kind of a cool deal. Offering half price ($15) night tickets to anyone on Wednesday and Thursday. Then on Fri, Sat, Sun offering half price night tickets to anyone with a pass from another ski area.

Details: Night Operations Start Wednesday | Mount Hood Meadows Ski Resort

Hope it cools off and we get some precip for a great start to nights. Nothing better than riding at night in a blizzard, love it.

Alright, here's a dumb city guy question, are there really wolves lurking in the trees at these resorts? I mean I assume there is plenty of wildlife out there but would think they'd be deeper out of bounds.

Their are black bears at baker and at times wondering around on the groomed, in march and april.

Interesting question. 30 years ago the answer would be easy.

I would pick Anthony Lake or Spout Springs as the Oregon ski area most likely to spot a wolf. Pretty close to the Walla Walla and Wenaha packs.

Thanks for the interesting insight!

I love cutting through treed areas and it would totally suck to encounter a pack of wolves as unlikely as that might be, although it would be awesome to encounter Snowolf himself :hope:
