Bachelor - Tues 1/15/13 - Snowboarding Forum

Long story short, decided to take a little roadtrip starting with Bachelor. Rode it yesterday (Monday) and will be there again today (Tuesday). Long shot, but anybody else gonna be there?

Conditions were a little better yesterday although it was warmer today. Both days were fantastic high speed groomer days and was still able to find some softer stuff in the trees. Made the mistake of hiking to the summit, and almost got blown off by the 40mph gusts lol.

Was the summit open? There's a lift for that or is there areas you can hike also?

Yeah summit express lift was open all day both days. By hike I just meant hiking a another 500ft higher from the top of that lift. Couple pics:

Very nice! Are those summit pics?

I've been 6 x but always after or during major dumps. Looks like a completely different place.

I've been to Bachelor 3x and rode 6 days total, but never on a pow day unfortunately. No summit pics this time due to wind. When I got up there, all I wanted to do was get the hell outta dodge lol.

Sounds like my experience at Bach too. No pow at all....still super fun even without pow. I'd kill for an epic blower day there.

My first time ever at bachelor was last year on opening day after the blizzard that shut the place down. 2 lifts and no groom. Snow so deep you drowned in it. It was almost no fun for me at the skill level I was at then. I spent more time digging out than boarding.

you really need to know the flat parts at Flatchelor on a good pow day or you'll be spending some time in the wallow...
