They started using the Yodelin lot and busses this year for extra capacity.", exactly my point, if they're turning 100's people away every weekends, they have no need to lower or maintain any prices, the sport (skiing or boarding) is going back to a time when only the rich kids could afford to ride, so keep raising the prices and thats how you'll eventually be able to put a handle on the parking issue.

Not sure where you're getting that BAKER doesnt have spring operations, BAKER has always been open later then Stevens.

As far as costs go, their diesel costs should be way, since the chairs are now electric/wind powered.

Anyone who knows Duncan or the rest of his family and staff, knows that he is a simple man and is very comfortable with his life and doesnt need to fall into the ways of corporate greed

Yeah, Stevens was sold a year ago to a very large real estate company, owned by a larger investment company. I'm sure they'll be heading in Crystal Mountain's direction more and more. Their sole duty now is to maximize profit. Not just make a moderate profit, like any business, but maximize the returns to the portfolio for investors. Things will change.

It is a serious question. Does DD access the backside via non double black runs? I've never taken it because the signage at the bottom says it serves double black terrain only, which is outside of my skill level.

well this year stevens is offering way more days than baker. Season should extend into May and they will still be open everyday, while baker only will be open 3 days a week in april. Every resort has to draw a line between making customers happy and whats right from a business standpoint.

Not true, starting April 14, Stevens is open Sat/Sun only. The week before that it's open Thu-Sun only.

Oh lol sorry if that was offensive at all. You don't actually have to ride any of DD's terrain to get to SC. You take kehrs chair, skate 100ft to DD, ride up and it drops you off on the backside right at the top of the SC chair. You ever notice the chair directly across from SC?

Ok good to know. Especially because you can also traverse from there to that blue run. I have only taken SC a few times, because the sign on that one also lies (says it serves single and double black only, but there is a blue) and I can only handle Orion if the snow is very soft Good to hear there is another way over there without having to take hogsback when lines are long.

That's not too bad I guess, but I'll miss no access to the gemini area/under the power lines on powder days. There is usually a lot of untouched stuff there for those of us who are not as experienced and riding solo. Just about everything under SC is not even marked, so I haven't gone exploring there, and I get the impression that would be a bad idea until I know what I'm doing.

That said, I'll be surprised if there are many powder days left anyway.
