Anyone Still Riding? Up for Crystal?

I'll be in town this weekend and the next, planning to hit Crystal if anyone wants to join me.

I rode at Crystal all Spring last year, hope its still holding up. Anyone been there lately?

Funny that you say that. I went to Crystal Mountain just last week _and_ for the last day at Alpental for Cinco de Mayo. I am heading over to CM this weekend as well on Saturday. Right now I am doing it via meetup groups.

That was my first day at CM last week and it was intimidating. :dizzy: That's a big mountain for my first season riding and the view of Mt. Rainier is amazing from there.

At the top I felt like a ship with sails - the wind was damn strong.
Also some random skier gave me a pole ride (no-homo) on the cat track.

Upper mountain is still completely covered (except the usual early exposed band under the rex chairline, anyway,) but most of the lower mountain past chinook is starting to show big holes. You should be able to find paths from top to bottom this weekend, but beyond that will probably require a bit of walking to get all the way to the base.

Green valley is nice and deep though!

Im planning a trip up there this weekend from seattle, just me right now so I'm down for a meetup. Could do either sat or sun!

Nice picture! Yeah I love Crystal in the Spring, the riding more than delivers considering the time of year it is and there are like NO lines!

Oddly I loved the challenge of trying to make it back to the bottom while the season wore down, each weekend becoming more and more difficult. I remember times when there would be a line about a foot wide at parts and you'd have to point it and keep your speed, and other parts where you had to jump from patch to patch to find a new line.

was a pretty rad day of riding yesterday. met up with Olex though never could find gunzalez. plenty of snow up top, runs down green had the most. my favorite was down rex though, lots of patches which made it fun to pick a line down without having to unstrap and hike. I'm not so good at this.... (hiked a lot, part of the fun right?)
weather was incredible! snow got real soft in afternoon but was rideable. Hopefully the snow stays til next weekend, I'd go back!

Sorry guys, I got there pretty late which through the timing off. I'm glad you guys were able to ride together. I ended up riding with a couple of guys I met on the Gondola who were really good and also ended up running into a friend.

I'll be there next Saturday - hopefully much earlier.
