back to subject: Went to spain for my job for one month, tried to learn kiteboarding during weekends in Tarifa, injured both of my heels on third weekend, returned home (Turkey) on wheelchair (damn, that was the easiest flight of my life: people driving you everywhere). It took one month to heal, two months to heal completely, and then I returned to kiteboarding and learned here in Turkey. nowadays I'm dreaming about snow day and night.

I do a lot of work, both on our family farm and my summertime job at the local conservation area doing grounds maintanence.
In my Spare time I do a lot of trail riding and lifting. I'm a fitness junkie, fastest I've ever biked the fanshawe trail which is a 22km offroad loop around a river is 54 minutes. Love the rush, wish there was downhill opportunity in my area but no such thing! I also spend a lot of time working on my truck and just spending time with friends and family! I'm a born and raised farm kid from a small town! yeeehawww! |

I use to be like the OP, I would have nothing to do all summer and wait for snowboarding. I now appreciate the summers in The Rockies, but still don't love them as much as winter. They go by faster if you have stuff to do and there's plenty of it around. Find something you like and you will find summers enjoyable.
I picked up mountain biking as a summer sport. There are lots of trails for me to ride. I also hike a lot with my dog. I was not much of a hiker until I got a little rat dog. He is a great trail trail dog and is very amusing to watch when he crosses streams. I love how he behaves off-leash in the wild. Hiking would be boring and lonely with out him. I think regular skateboarding is very close to snowboarding. I skate a little too. |
