I wakeboard during the summer in texas and let me tell you these summers are way too long but the wakeboarding keeps me satisfied and in relatively decent shape til the winter comes along and i can leave the south for some rocky mountain fun
I picked up wakeboarding this past year and it was pretty awesome. Turned out to be easier than I thought. I however used to kayak two summers ago and would go down river by my house but certainly no whitewater... Rivers in chicagoland area are not very extreme you could say. However I did hear about few places in wisconsin. What river would you go on?
I had opportunity to do some small hiking in Vermont earlier this month and it was a blast but midwest is just to flat. So i stick to running and biking
I usually go to the colorado river or rivers in arkansas pretty much anywhere that is at least a class 4 river. Oklahoma is building a new whitewater park. i cant wait that means no more driving for endless hours just to hit some rapids...
