advice from a rookie

lock your elbows to your knees and get to a plane on the water... before you try and stand up.

Once your going and want to do a trick or change hands bring the handle in tight to your center.

Start working out your upper body. Make sure you use a board that goes with your size. Expect to fall just do not try to stand up to quick. Make sure you chip in money for gas if you are going with friends.

so keep your knees locked?? then its pretty much snowboarding??

my thanks to all

I would not lock anything. I keep everything bent, maybe arms locked straight but bend your knees and keep them bent.

no, don't lock anything, always have a soft flex in your joints to absorb bumps and stuff

keep the handle pulled into your leading hip, don't hold it out in front of you. This will make it easier to be parallel to the rope, it is then more simple to edge.

also learn about progressive edge for when you start to jump (goooogle it)
