Why is it that skateboarders don't wear helmets? I've seen the local skaters take a few harsh spills and find myself thinking "You're brain is noodle compared to the concrete your head slammed against."

I'm picking up a brain bucket for myself this winter after a couple of good hits to the head last season, and that was my head making contact with snow. These dumbasses are bashing their brains against CONCRETE. What the hell is their deal?

at high velocity there is no discernible difference between concrete and hard pack snow. The real problem is that it is easier to reach a higher velocity when snowboarding than skateboarding.
