Default Couch Potatoe

What do you guys do to get motivated to work out?

(I've been on the lazy side for the past couple of months and to get my butt into gear. Snowboarding doesn't count)

Default Work out

1) Look in the mirror. Ouch!

2) Remind myself how bad the heart attack hurt.

3) Think of deep powder and how much more of it I can eat if I'm fit.

Rinse and repeat.

2) I'm not that physically old

3) Um...

1.) Wanna look good for the ladies. Hahh mainly for my girl *whip crackles*
2.) Being more fit improves snowboard performance imo. And obviously it's just more healthy

I don't lift weights as much as I'd like.. kinda weird but I'm afraid to get super bulky. I'd feel like I'd lose flexibility. Though I most def use some more muscle tonnage. But I motivate myself to run / jog a lot. 15-20 during the week cause I'm boarding on the weekends!

I can't run/jog, kills my knees. Instead I ride/race mountain bikes and train on the road. For some reason this keeps my knee pain to a minimum.

Idk lol. I just tell myself not to be lazy. If I don't get up or off the computer I'll be mad at myself later and I'll just remind myself of that.

During winter it seems to be a losing cause as my body seems to need down time and all the drinking/partying. When I do get more active it seems to be easier at about week 3ish as my body sets into a new pattern. when I can my usually activity level is something like this during summer.

Gym 3-4 times a week 45mins to 1.5 hours (cardio and weights)
Mnt Bike 3 times a week minimum, no less than a 5 mile ride. I usually try to aim for ten plus on a ride, with one longer one on the weekends.
Climbing 2-4 a month will be my goal this year.
Intermittent hiking and road biking.

Pre-winter I change my workout at the gym to focus on leg and core strength with a focus on balance. not lots of weights.

And change of diet. Especially what time I eat food in relation to activities. Read the book "Nutrition Timing" I haven't read the whole thing myself but gleened some good info from it.
Nutrient timing: the future of ... - Google Books
