Default Beginner Longboard?

Hey all ive been thinking about picking up a longboard for some general cruising around town. I just want something stable and easy to ride, nothing fancy, and on the cheaper side. I have no idea if this is possible but under $150 would be preferable, but i dont want something thats gonna fall apart on me so if i have to spend more for something decent i will. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good setup?? Any help at all is appreciated im totally clueless

I was thinking about doing the same thing to get a jump up on my friends who've been snowboarding longer than me.

I want to do some longboarding and skateboarding, wakeboard while i stay at my friends house on a lake for 2 weeks, and maybe pick up some surfing and definitely skim boarding when I am at the beech with my cousins who surf.

I really don't know if these boards are good but if you go to WhiskeyMilitia.com they regularly put up new deals back to back and you can snag a longboard for 60-80 bucks on huge discount

For your price range i'd say check out last years models of Never Summer boards. Also EarthWing, BC Longboards, Bustin, and Kracked Skulls all make great affordable boards!

I have last year's Never Summer Assualt and Loaded Dervish and love them both! Might i recommend the EarthWing supermodel or superglider, or even my next board, the BC Moray!!!

I would keep my eye out for pawn shops. You would be surprised to find surfboards there.
Also garage sales. Some people just grow out of it and give away great boards for dirt cheap.

Does never summer make good longboard decks...or just mediocre-decent?

NS is on top of the tech just like their snowboards! ie: p-tex nose and tail bumpers, rubber damping over the trucks, best fiberglass in the biz, and of course a 3 year warranty!

I bought my 09 NS Assault from tactics.com for $156 shipped!

I'm picking up a used '09 NS Swift in like new condition tomorrow for $125! I figure it'll be great practice in the summer, along with the trampoline!
