Need some longboard info! - Snowboarding Forum

Basically need something somewhat similar to snowboarding during the summer, and skateboarding didn't really suit me so im looking into longboards right now. My knowledge on longboards is extremely small, so just wondering what the best longboard for carving/downhill is, with the ability to do some tricks.

Personally all the brands i've looked into is neversummer and browsed on the sector 9 site for a bit.

So yeah, all i really want is a board under 325 or so and other than that i don't care about price range

I have a Arbor (yes the snowboard guys) Axis 'Koa' wood board. Drop-through gullwing charger trucks so it has a lower center of gravity - more akin to snowboarding, 72mm wheels which are big enough to comfortable ride over most urban surfaces. It's a flat board tho- no tail or tip so you don't olly it- definitely a cruiser/carver. 40" long, 30" wheelbase. Pretty stiff board, so it'll transfer a lot of road-noise to your feet.

It works PERFECT for what I use it (flatland cruising and touring the area) around Tampa Bay.

Picked it up for about $200 + Bones bearings + tax. Get good skate-rated bearings - they help.

I picked up a used NS Swift in pretty much new condition about a month ago for $125. I went with it because I love NS stuff and the Swift is based on their snowboard designs.

Falling on asphalt sucks.

OH - forgot to mention. Watch whiskey militia like a hawk. GREAT deals to be had there. Sorry Suburban, I'm all about repping forum members sites, and especially my local board shop (tampa bay, so no snowboards just longboards) - but I also gotta give the deal-at-a-time site some credit too.
