Default Whitewater Kayaking

Attended a beginner's clinic last Saturday, ran a 4-mile section of the Upper New River in WV on Sunday (Class I-III- rapids). I'm hooked. I swam 3 times in 4 miles but... I guess you have to start somewhere (and I got pretty good at getting out my boat under water).

The only problem now is the cash it's going to take to get my own gear and then finding time (while raising 2 youngin's) to progress.

The coolest part is that I now belong to a "club" that seems very active in organizing trips, etc. I wish I could find something similar around here for snowboarding!

Yeah, same story in CO. We had no spring this year. It went from snowing to full blown summer so the usual melt period was shortened to what amounted to essentially the flushing of a toilet.
