Sup guys, just got my new Dervish yesterday to give me something to do during the off-season. If any of you are thinking about picking up longboarding, definitely let me know of any questions and give this video a skim. I rode it last night for a few miles, didn't today because of the rain. It is super carvy and I love the connection to snowboarding. However, if you have enough hills and want the most realistic snowboarding experience on asphalt check out the Freebord.

when i snowboard after longboarding i can;t keep an edge and slip all over the slopes. they're nothing alike. never surfed before but i would say it's more like surfing. how much did you pay for the dervish?

Once the wheels break in it will be more like holding an edge, but true it still isn't the same thing. I'm riding 86a's, the idea being I can ride it more like a snowboard. Like I said, the Freebord is the most comparable to snowboarding. The board was 300 exactly.

Edit: the Wheels duro is 83a.

I ride on retro abec 11 77a they grip like mad, the wheels are amazing.Im getting a new complete in a week. A landyatch 9two5 after i get it ill post up a pic! getting some abec 11 gumballs 76mm to go with it. getting it for cheap too. SO damn excited. have fun on the dervish.

Thanks man, enjoy your landy too! I rode a switch the other night and those boards are built like tanks! Nice choice on the gumballs, too!

freebords don't really simulate carving. it's mostly skidded turns. however carving on a longboard is more fun. plus unless you have a decent hill in your neighbourhood a freebord is pretty much useless since you can't really use it to get around at school.

i live about a minute away from this ditch. very fun to ride in. They have a yearly longboard gathering here in abq called ditch slap. people from all over gather here.
