I don't know if I'd say it's harder than snowboarding. Maybe some of the tricks are because you have to hold the rope at the same time, but you don't have challenging terrain like you do on the mountain. Unless of course you decide to wakeboard in really rough water but that's really just no fun.

Wake boarder here. Not so much since moving to Montana. Still have my boat though. MC x55. Throws a excellent wake. Surf wake, not so good. My wake board skills are rudementary. Basically heal side wake to wake with 75 out. Few grabs. Basic heel side switch Wake to wake. I would go more but 1. have hard time getting people to go with me and 2. I'm now injured. Also, water is friggin cold here.

how the hell is it hard to find people to go with you!?! You have a boat, everyone loves boating, all you have to do is say, hey we are going boating who wants to go, and you have bitched and homies lining up out the door. I want more friends that have a hard time finding people to go...because ill go!

Love to wakeboard!! If I could ride everyday I would!! Hitting cable parks is just as cool as being behind a boat!! I also helped build a winch park this summer. So fun!
I rock an old Watson with blown out liquid force vantage bindings. I also picked up a Roam for super cheap this summer.

been riding for 5 years, only get out 1 week every summer though, my grandparents rent a cottage in the muskokas for a month and the family usually makes it up for one week and maybe one more weekend. First time i tried it I quit cuz I couldnt get up. the next year i got up, and learned wakejumps within a week, slowly progressed, I can do raileys, 360's and tried what was supposed to be a backroll but turned into a tantrum for the first time this past summer.
I wish I could wakeboard more, but since I can't I took up snowboarding and probably like snowboarding more now! haha Still love the rush though of flying through the air completly layed out 8 feet in the air and landing 7 feet outside the other side of the wake..... oh and I ride Obrien valhalla with obrien access boots/bindings hyperlite team edition vest and hyperlite zero stretch rope, (can't remember what there actually called) Last edited by notter123; 10-25-2011 at 01:37 PM. |

last wake surfing session for the season...
This was my first time trying this. My POV video didn't make the cut in the edit as I had to hold the rope. Harder than it looks. I kept thinking that being too close to the boat was dangerous, but that's where the sweet spot was.
