Default Closest Substitute???

the east has been done for weeks i need to ride something! is a longboard the best option? i've never been much of a skateboarder

I find wakeboarding probably the closest. Resembles riding in deep, bouncy powder...

thanks, i did read that thread...im looking more for something i can do as training rather than a hobby. wakeboarding would be awesome but not really something i could do too often. i think im leaning towards a longboard, unfortunately its pretty flat where i live but it'll be better than nothing and i'm hoping if i skate goofy all summer, dialing in riding switch will be easier next winter

a trampoline, practice your spinning and flipping and it can be a fairly good work out.

^^^ +1 to the trampoline, it's a bloody good workout! But another thing you could do is an actual 2-4 day a week workout. A strong core, legs, glutes, etc. will really help with any riding. There's only so far that technique can take you without having the muscle to back it up. I know I've got to do a lot more training this summer.

Anyone looked at mountain boarding? I'd imagine it would be quite similar in some aspects
