Like the tittle says it, today I hit my first kicker. It was a small one but I pussied out
, as soon as my board hit the kicker and left the water I let go of the rope. So of course I made it to the top with plenty of speed and landed on my ass in water it was pretty funny (although I did swallow water ).The good thing is that a advance rider saw me and he told me I had it, but I fucked up by releasing the rope, next time I just need to keep my speed and knees bend. I was to scared of hitting it again, but I plan on doing it maybe Thursday without the fins. By removing the fins I will have it easier to lift the board from the wake, but the turning part is going to be more difficult as I will loose grip. We will see how it goes. It's a shame that I don't have any pictures as my riding buddy could not make it today either. I hope to get some pictures and videos soon enough, my mom is going to go not this coming week but the next one and she should be able to get plenty of shots. |

, I know I jumped and fell...Yes the cable causes most of the side movement. In this case I landed on my ass, but I guess if everything would of been ok I would of landed on my toe side (I take of on my heel) there are all sort of kickers and rails there, but this one seems to be the safest one to start. |

I'm definitely no expert but I have been told that when you hit the jump, the tow bar should be at your hip and then when you are in the air you pull it away from your hip. I believe it loads the force of the rope towards your center of gravity rather than the top half which would pull you over forward. Just my 2 cents. Sounds like a ton of fun. I am jealous.

So I am getting better at approaching those kickers, the issue is that once you hit the plastic it slows you down a lot, causing you to fall sometimes.
I am approaching it at an angle that way I can bail out if things get bad. Today I actually got it like a total of 10 times, but none of them were from the top lip. The good news is that I only went down once, next week I will try going of the lip and see what happens ![]() I am also getting better at olies (I am not sure how to spell the word), I am getting much more air than before. overall things are much better than last Sunday, I can feel a lot of improvement. |

that is exactly what you need to do, just lean back and put pressure on your back foot. The thing is that you have to stay like that until you take air. In the air you do your tricks and then to land you have to again put all your weight in the back, so you the rope does not pull you forward when the impact happens.
It's kind of complicated because for the snowboard you only have to worry about the lower have of the body, here its a mixture of upper and lower half. You really need to keep control on your upper half to maintain stable in the water. |
