Que? The way I'm reading it is that the REI one has 18.75sqft of total vestibule space, divided between two vestibules (so ~9.4sqft on each side). The Kelty has a total of 10sqft of vestibule space, all in the same vestibule.

I'll second that. Got some shell pants (which I returned) and a puffy jacket from them a couple months ago. I will say that they have some good design ideas, but the follow-through isn't there. I don't think I'd buy anything else from them.

Yeah, you're right. I misread the number of doors for each.

My point is that 10 sqft isn't a lot of room for 2 packs, 2 pairs of boots, etc. It's fine for one of things.

No, but it's not out of the norm for a single-door tent. It just depends on how much space you really need. I prefer a single door at the foot of the tent (having the door on the side can make it a hassle getting two people in and out of the tent) and I use a shorty sleeping pad and put my pack under my legs/feet, which saves quite a bit of space and some weight as well.

TylerKat: For that price, I'd jump on that SD tent.

Still have and use my 20+ yr old SD tent. I've got 2 others also. Rainfly's go all the way down and their CS can't be beat. I'd buy that SD in a heartbeat...gearloft and footprint included. You can probably use the fly, footprint, pole dealio, if you want to go lite.

No it is not out of the norm to have 10 sq ft per vestibule. I just find that 10 sq feet isn't enough for 2 people and I hate having my pack in the tent since I'm already 6'2".

I'd jump on the Zia for that price though. I have the Electron from a few years back (basically a 3 person Zia) and it's still my favorite tent....well made
