Wink ...also Demo'd a "Fat Bike" yesterday!

Yesterday was our annual MTB Demo at one of the State Parks. Went there to drool & dream about a new $2000+ MTB and while I was there I got to try out one of these,..

Fat Bike!

FatBike_photo.JPG

It was Freaking Awesome!!!! I took it off the trail and into an area that had been cut n bulldozed! I was amazed at how easy this bike was to pedal in shit that would have had me bouncing off my MTB left n right!! It just peddled right over ruts n bumps, rocks and even 6 & 7 inch logs!! Rolled right over them without having to hop the front tire or even stand in the saddle!!!!!

I swear, I never even had to stand up on the peddles once & I was riding in some REALLY rough shit!!! They're made for riding in sand, mud and wait for it,.... "SNOW"!!!!
I really want to get one so I can keep riding the trails next winter!!!

Also, as a Nature/Outdoor photographer,.. add a couple of good racks and I could haul my photo gear just about anywhere with half the effort!!!!

These things look like they are a BLAST!!!!

Anyone else have/Rode one? Post a pic!!!

It's NOT a single speed if that's what you're asking. It's got two Chain rings on the front sprocket and 10 or 12 on the rear! So you've got a pretty good choice of gears. Plus they only run about 8-10 LBS pressure in the tires! And the shop guy said he's run them at 4 or 5 lbs. for extra traction!

I got LOT's of incredulous looks from the other MTB'rs while I was off on the side of the trail in the twigs n branches & logs and such! you REALLY can't believe what they'll ride over & thru until you take one there yourself!!! Apparently they held a winter Demo last year. I'm hoping they do that again next year! I really want to try one in the snow!!

Pictured model is the "Muckluck" I think! $2300 freakin' dollars!! Lower end models start at $1700! again!!!
