The only problem with dabbing hash instead of smoking flowers is that your tolerance goes through the roof. Sometimes it can also loosen your bowels. It'll also seriously degrade your short-term memory until you take a few days off.
My wife and I went on nearly a month long dab binge after a big harvest when I was growing in CA. We dabbed about an ounce of AAA hash (made from flowers, not trim) by ourselves in that time. It took almost another month after that before we could really get anything out of flowers again, and even then it took massive bong hits to do it. You can forget smoking blunts or a regular bowl. It would be a waste. You'll hardly feel a thing if you've been dabbing heavily.
I'd take it easy on the dabs. If you do too much it becomes the only thing that'll get you high. If you wanna smoke more, but inhale less, I'd suggest a volcano vaporizer.
Oh to be clear, when I say hash I mean butane extracted, vacuum purged shatter. All extracts are technically a form of hash so that's what I call all of them. Wax, bho etc. are all different grades of hash.
There is no substitution for human competition.
