Who's rockin' snow tires on their rides?

Just seeing who out there has snow tires on their snowboard vehicles? IMO, snow tires offer vastly superior traction in the snow and ice than even the best "all season" tires ever will. There are so many threads with people wondering what cars to use on their trip out west but given the right tires, I think any car can handle almost any snowy mountain pass.

I just picked another set for my WRX. This time I went with the studded route and got some General Altimax Arctic tires. I'm dying to test these out on a snow packed road tomorrow. I'm curious how these will compare to the Blizzaks I had on there before.

I got Peerless brand whatever cheapo studded snow tires and they are excellent. Yeah, I couldn't agree more. Whether a vehicle is AWD or 4WD doesn't really matter to me anymore. My FWD kicks ass on any vehicle without snow tires. At least traction wise it does. Clearance wise, well maybe I am lacking there a little. That is what the snow shovel in the trunk is for.

Really though, I don't worry about driving on snowy roads what so ever.

Nokian Hakka lt for the fj. No sense taking the risk with the terrain and conditions here.

Using a brand new set of Blizzaks on my Dodge Ram. The last set made it through 4 winters (actually Fall through late Spring). That compares the three previous sets of studded tires which lasted three winters each. So far the Blizzaks provide just as good or better traction along with a smoother ride.

Expect the unexpected and then deal with it.
