Wakeboarding at 53
Okay, I posted a few years ago my learning to snowboard video when I turned 50. I have been waterskiing for 15 years - my husband has been trying to get me to wakeboard since I started snowboarding. I just feel very comfortable on skis and the wakeboard just seemed too squirrely. Plus I like my arms in front of me - not twisted sideways. We had been skiing/wakeboard off the back of the boat. After skiing one day this guy next to us heard me defending NOT wakeboarding and he said he could get me up in 3 tries with his tower. I thought about it for 10 minutes then finally took him up on his offer to try off the tower on his boat as he says it is much easier to get up with a tower. We have a cheap wakeboard with Velcro straps we've been using to learn on. Well, take and look and see how I did! If anything for a good laugh!

That is so cool !!!
I have been wanting to do this for years. I have been considering selling my 66 Mustang to take take a buy a wakeboard boat for the family. Just hasn't been the right timing and in the budget.

You guys are the bomb !!

Needless to say - after me getting up with the guys tower the very next week I had a Tower ordered - the videos after the guy got me up are with our new Tower. I have to admit - it really does help get you up - even skiing is easier to get up - and at this age - we need all the help we can get! :giggle::giggle:
Actually got outside the wake last year - this year I want to try to switch so I can give my sides a rest - however, my idea of wakeboarding is not to get my hair wet - as you can see on the video with the guy pulling me - I stay up all the way around the lake and didn't get my hair wait - success! :yahoo::yahoo:
