Exclamation CDC, Ebola, and the Zombie Apocalypse,..

Guess I owe an apology to all the "Doomsday Prepper's" and Zombie Apocalypse folks that I had always thought were just anti Govt. paranoid nutbags!!!

The way the CDC has been conducting, controlling, containing (…NOT!) that cluster fuck of the Ebola outbreak there in Texas? Well lets just say I just hope my back recovers soon enough that I get to ride again before the end of the world and the Zombies start eating the survivors!!

It wasn't quite so freaky when it was still way "Down in the Heart of Texas!" But, now I hear that an infected, and infectious nurse or caregiver just returned after flying to & from Cleveland OH. visiting relatives.

Now that's getting a little close to home!
(…Of course I guess the upside is, after the EOTW? The slopes shouldn't be all that crowded!)

Worse... The CDC actually has no power over hospitals, only the states do. So you are only as safe as the weakest, most disorganized state and shady for profit hospital.

I could always spend the winter camping in the backcountry.

There was a woman in my area visiting from Africa who was admitted to the hospital with a fever and a few ebola symptoms. But she ended up testing negative. The whole thing is scary. Somehow they are not doing something properly if it's turning out to be so hard to contain. And once it hits the general public, I'm moving up to a cave in the mountains.

This is pretty scary stuff for sure. I have been thinking about it a lot lately, and how I am working on cargo ships when they come into port from who knows where and what kind of germs the crew mates may be carrying when they pass you on a narrow walkway and breathe in your face. I'm pretty disappointed in our government for bringing the 2 aid workers here to the US to be treated with the possibility of infecting others, seems like it makes more sense to have isolated them in Africa and treated them there... as far as the others its a shitty situation

They managed to contain Ebola in Nigeria and Senegal, even though that's probably slightly short of the truth!

I don't think it's worth losing sleep over...

The media like to whip up a storm in certain countries.

Uhmmm,.. can you site your source(s) for that? I was certainly under the impression that the CDC, as a Federal agency? Had the power and final jurisdiction over matters of virulent, dangerous and highly contagious infectious diseases! If that's wrong and what you said is actually true,.???

Then there's no doubt about it,..? We're Fucked! The hospital I had my spine surgery can't even keep it straight who to bill.

(side note to calm everyones fears)
The hospital billed the right insurance for my first surgery. But, apparently they sent the bill for my second surgery to an insurance outfit that I have NEVER belonged to!

I got a letter today from that insurance co. informing me that my claim was denied! Even they don't even seem to know that I am not now, nor ever have been, one of their insured??

Yup, you just gotta love incompetence like that!! Nothing whatsoever to worry about!!

They don't tell you that "confine" in their third world country really means they quarantine the outbreak and just let the disease run its course, killing half+ the infected people. We live in a "moral" society so we can't just do that....
