Nose wheelie

For those dirt-bikers, I have a question. On scrub/prairie (not pavement), how fast would you have to be going to be able to stretch a nose-wheelie over 50 yards? Or put another way, if you came in at about 50 mph, how long could you stretch a nose-wheelie?

I don't need this to the inch, just a general idea.

You wouldn't want to... Traction wouldn't be great you'd probably end up in a scorpion with the bike on top of you.

Yeah, I was gonna definitely request this attempt to be captured on video.

Explanation required: This is fiction, so he's not going to scorpion because I say so. I just want to make sure that the assumptions I'm making about the length of the nose wheelie aren't going to make people grab their throats and fall over.

My biking experience is with street tourers, and doing a nose wheelie on a full-dress Goldwing is contraindicated.

Dirt bikes are tough to do stoppies on pavement with knobbies but if you have a street tire on it (supermotard) you can rollout 200-500' stoppies from 50 mph depending on your level of talent.

I don't practice and my balance sucks but I can roll a 100' stoppie on my road race motorcycle. I'm no where near the balance point though...I only get the rear wheel 1' or so off the ground. The stunters can do amazing things on the front wheel...roll corners...180s and take off in a wheelie...ect.

I used to sponsor a stunt team...those guys would put on a show every time they came by the shop for tires.

I just realized that you said on dirt...sorry about that. I would think a good rider could easily roll a 50 yard stoppie from 50 mph. I don't do that on the big dirt bike, but on the little one, I can roll 25-30' from 20 mph or so. And I'm not good at it.

Thanks. My character is good at it, though, so NP. Good to know he's not doing something stupidly impossible (just stupid is ok).

As for the name, it may be a locale thing. There's lots on the interwebz under "nose wheelie". I probably should find out if there's a different local name for it in Nebraska.
