Default Your mtns in summer

First posted the below pics in the Euro section, but an other member evoked my curiosity... curious to see how your mtns look in summer, what you're doing there in all the months when there's no snow... This are Swiss mtns in summer clothes

Love my mountains also in summer. It's way too hot in the lowlands, but very nice in the mtns, especially with a cooling swim in a mtn lake getting it's water directly from the glaciers

Hiking path in the middle of the pic, above the cliff

Beautiful view all along the path

The lake was bit chilly, but refreshing!

Ya I need to move to Switzerland.... Only places close to that in the states in my opinion are the Tetons and maybe Glacier National Park. The PNW is crazy beautiful but I've always be most in awe of steep Rocky Mountains that just go on for ever.

Nice! that's beautiful.
My wife did a similar trip a couple weeks ago...

It was about 9km hike with 3 steps/lakes up to the big glacier. I didn't go, was put on baby sitting duties that day hehe

Yeah the water is cold:

Aah... F1FA, your area looks so gorgeous! Where in BC is this? I simply love this type of landscape, woods, mts, lakes... I feel home immediately if there's a snowcovered peak in sight somewhere.

See, and that's exactly why I can't convince the hub to travel there . He uses to say that w/o a rifle, he won't put a feet into bear country whereupon I claim that a foreign tourist will hardly get one = we've never been to any bear places when they don't hibernate.

LOL
No worries, the bears are not too aggressive (black bears that is, If you run into a grizzly you're pretty much screwed).

The photos from up there are in Pemberton, which is about 30mins drive north of Whistler... which is about 1.5 hrs from Vancouver. The bears are from near Williams Lake (about 1hr flight from Vancouver, ~6hr drive).

But yeah this area is gorgeous... here's some more nature porn

This is about 30mins from Vancouver. Not summer though, this was this spring:

This is Squamish... it's between Vancouver and Whistler. This spring as well:

This is the Vancouver shore, photos from last summer/fall. On the background is one of our local mtns in North Van:

And this is in Vancouver in this spring:

This summer's just started, so more to come
