Hope, the new system without canisters will make it to the market soon!
Odd question, but the other security guys that didn't say anything, which area's were they traveling in?

Within AK (could well be that they are more used to them...)
However, met a guide who told me he's travelling with his canister ever since and his hub is Seattle. I may just have picked the guy with the badest mood there...

BTW: Hate jet lag. 3 am and wide awake. Will be a rough day back in the office today

I just know that now you are more likely to not be able to fly with them unless you take the valve cover off. Which I don't recommend as it can be very hard to reseat the O ring without damaging it. Thus meaning your canister will leak. It is also very hard to get the valve off in the first place. Hopefully at some point the rules will change. I am planning on buying the Black Diamond Jet Force Pack after next season. That should make the problem moot as you can fly with a batter powered airbag.

Not sure how it is across the pond? But here in the good Ol' US of A? ...most TSA's are barely above minimum wage, untrained retards. Lots of failed "Wanna B" cops that couldn't pass the psych evals, power trippin' A'holes, etc.

Sorry you got the retard who thinks he's a hero! Saving the world from Swiss miss, snowboard terrorists!

For my work. I have been fingerprinted and background checked by Customs, TSA, FAA, State n Fed law enforcement. I have ID N access badges that along with my hazmat cert on my CDL? Allows me to drive onto runways with a truck full of hazardous frieght,...

TSA says I can't carry a leatherman tool on my belt cuz of the 2.75 in. knife blade!!!! Fukin' Retards!

Across the pond, special regulations for airbag canisters allow to fly even with them filled... damn thing is that there's no way to fly to AK directly from Europe. Gonna need to buy a second airbag for the next trip, don't feel like repeating this story. Arrr.

Haha yes... he was exactly that bossy A type, grinning very satisfied with himself while showing me off. I felt super stupid standing there with my backpack - which always contains also my stuffed animal - treated like a potential danger for the nation .

Didn't they get rid of the knife regulation recently?

Dunno? All I know is our manager passed the word that TSA will confiscate if they see them. This is a private commercial ramp facility at the airport too. Not commercial flights. Our own planes and ramp operations, so wtf knows?

Still retarded! I just keep my knife in my pocket now. I figure they need to have a good reason or a warrant to search my person. (...the knife is legal under all State & company guidelines regarding blade length etc. )

Did some wrenching on the car on Saturday, and now my bad shoulder feels like it's going to fall out of its socket. I found out the hard way that I'm apparently claustrophobic too... Ugh.

Take care. You seem to be a little accident/injury prone

This is just an old injury flair up, still hurts though. And I am *way* injury/accident prone hahaha. I do the best that I can to minimize that, but to stop injuries altogether, you'd have to trap me in a bubble wrapped room.
