I Hate that Orthopedic and Neurosurgeons are in their offices to see patients only a day or two ea. week. And Fuck my Luck, seems I'm always a day late on getting seen. So No matter how much pain Im in, no matter how often I get wheeled into the ER because I've been sreaming in agony for the last hour or two? I have to wait another week to be seen!

I managed to get an appt with a neurosurgeon (... hopefully a competent one) two days before the surgery Im scheduled for on the 31st.

I just can't shake the feeling that I am royally fucked!!!

It was raining 19 days this July already! More precipitation already fell in this still not finished month than in the entire Nov13-March14 season together. Already now there are floodings, blocked streets, usually tame currents are raging brown streams, lakes full, soils can't soak anymore... I live at a lake which would be a collecting tank if the upstream city is in danger to be flooded... well, the lake is full to the rim already now... but for the next 5d the forecast says yet more rain rain rain

I realize flooding isn't ideal... But right now I'd take it. We've only gotten 3-5 inches of rain this entire summer. Been watching crops wilt in the 100+ degree(F) heat. It's pathetic. Not to mention wheat harvest was terrible, so many farmers are relying on decent fall crops (milo, corn, soybeans) to make it pay. Milo is pretty resistant to drought but everything else is screwed unless it's irrigated.

I have been looking at the pictures Wolf Creek (a CO mountain) of them putting in a new lift. And it's greener there than here, on the side of a freaking mountain with half the trees dead.

Oh and I'd add, many would have you think farmers are remorseless white trash, which is false. Most care more about their crops and cattle then you'd believe.

A lot of my clients are farmers, and they're actually pretty fantastic people to talk to when they come into our shop.

And on the topic of rain, as happy as I am that we've been getting quite a bit of it, I feel like we're drowning, and I wish there was a way to pack up and send it over to those who need it more than ever.
