X2

I am getting really sick of seeing the homophobic posts coming from a homo.

You bitch about other members, yet seem to like to take stabs at everyone unprovoked and unwarranted. I am just about over it...

2 things today!

1st. Booger Eatin' Retards!!!!!
On the road or even walking/running on the trails or sidewalk! You know the ones, the oblivious dipsticks that never seem to look any further than 3-10 ft. in front of their F'ing noses. When Im riding my MTBon the road, I can watch these idiots for 1/2 a mile or more as I approach them on a straight flat section, and I can tell by their startled reactions that they never saw me until I was right in front of them. Half a mile! And they never looked up once!!!

It's the same on the sidewalks or paved trails. I even put a bell on my bike, (...Yes!!! a little bell that goes "ding ding" "ding ding") It goes perfect with my Pink Hello Kitty Camelbak, PedoBear suit, and Rainbow Pony stickers on my bike helmet! LOL!

I got it to try and alert other riders, hikers, etc. on the trail. I felt It was a very "Non Agressive" way to try to alert them to my presense and that I was about to overtake & pass! On the MTB trails it works fairly well. I can give it a couple of "dings" before heading into a blind turn, and often when I come out of it, a runner/hiker or other biker is already off to the side! I thank them, wish them a good day as I barrel past!

But out in the open? on public sidewalks n paved trails? Do they hear? Fuck no!!! Too busy yaking on their phones or with their iPods blarring in their ears and TOTALLY oblivious to their surroundings. Today, I came across several walkers/joggers where I rang the FUCK outta that bell coming up behind a them, one whom I was approaching from the FRONT!!! All clueless! Finally shouted out "On your left!" and they still didn't hear or notice me until I was along side of them, wherein they Jump like a scorched cat!!!! ...and then they have the fucking nerve to yell at ME to be careful!

Where's SK with that Portlandia bike clip???? I thought it was FREAKIN' hilarious at first, Now, I'm not so sure!!!!

2nd. New members that don't have a clue!!!!

When they want to jump right in and be the arbiter of what is or isn't acceptable without ever taking the time to read and research and get to know the "flavor," the tone or personalities of the people in this community and how we interact with one another! The ones that never seem to take the time to learn when a particular post on a subject is to be taken in all seriousness or when it's part of the general "Friendly sarcasm" and irreverence that aside fro the vast wealth of snowboard knowledge, information and expert (...and sometimes not so expert,) advice, is actually one of the BEST qualities of this forum! It's FUN! We laugh at ourselves and each other as we share in an activity, I presume we all feel passionate about!!! At least the ones who stick around and contribute regularly! Do we all like one another?? Pfffffft! (...that's polite for FUCK NO!)

ANYONE, who's spent any time here reading and getting to know the (...somewhat twisted!) personalities here, can see that some things are taken seriously! Blatant self absorption and outright stupidity is not tolerated long! But if you really look at the history of even the people who's attitude you claim to despise, you would find that there is a VAST difference in how they respond to people depending on their level of unintended, ill informed Newb ignorance, and how they respond to the posers, know it all's, spammers and/or the willfully ignorant and dangerously stupid!

These so called "rude pricks" as these "new guys" often refer to them, have been LONG TIME contributing members with a proven history of helping people on this forum! Sometimes by being brutally honest and blunt, and sometimes with a GREAT DEAL of patience and kind support when it's warranted! And Yes!, that includes BA! (...believe it or not!)

(...Fuck, I hope he doesn't read that! He'll probably rip me a new one for outing him!)

So you self proclaimed "politeness police!" Take the time to learn about this community, or just Fuck Off n leave!

...and before you go calling me, or anyone else a "cheerleader" or "fan,". Why don't you take the time to research some of our posts and read what kind of a Ripping we got when we said sumpthin' Stupid???!!

-sigh- EOR! (...end of rant!)

I know all too well what you are talking about Chomps. There are some oblivious idiots on the multi use trails. They get about as much respect from me as they are giving. On the mountain bike trails no problem. On the paved multi use paths, well that is a different story...

Chomps:
At your first point, I bow down to you for having and using your bell. As a trail user of the multi-purpose type, THANK YOU!!! And I say this because my hobby includes drifting around corners on my longboard, and they are usually blind. If someone has the courtesy to ring their bell, EVERYONE stops to let the biker pass. Also, even if I'm not listening to music when I'm on my board, or even just biking around, sometimes bikes are quiet enough that you don't hear them coming up and it's quite easy to get startled. My only pet peeve is when other bikers, (especially the road guys) get PISSED when you politely ask them to use their bell next time they plan on sneaking up and passing you that way.

Hey, I feel ya! Even some of the other MTB guys on the trails do that to me! The bikes ARE pretty quite n I keep my music at a level that lets me here ambient. (...no IN ear buds for me!). I've been surprised numerous times by "Hard Core" guys blasting past me! No wrecks yet, but close!

People hiking the DH trails at Vail? That just sounds suicidal.

I haven't done the downhill thing yet. Pretty much cross country for me. Mostly because it is a lot like splitboarding and is great training for the coming winter. Though I would like to give it a try. Everyone has a kick with it that does it. It does look fun.
