well basically a switch failed. simple enough right? well the best part is we dont have ANY back up equipment so after we figured out what was going on, we couldnt really fix it. we now have a 16-port dumb switch that i bought from best buy running things until our switch gets replaced. how fucking rediculous is that?

dude, I work for a technology placement firm, and find the best talent in NYC for our financial clients. With that background you'd think we'd have a crack IT team in house right... not so much. I swear these guys are the most incompentent bastards I've ever seen. We get a 3minute delay in our outlook whenever we try to sort by anything or if it just decided to be like that, for any number of reasons. They keep blaming it on our storage of emails and things like that. I flat out bitch slapped the CIO by telling him dude before you guys came in and "fixed" everything we had no system slowdowns, and we had more people in the company and more emails. Get on your performance tuning gloves and get to fucking work fixing the links from the db to the server you fucktard. He didn't like that so much, reported me to the owner of my company who then proceeded to tell me I was right but not to verbally abuse my coworkers, since it just creates more of a headache for him!
