Now I am fairly certain Paolo is a 14yo girl in South Bronx.

I am a software engineering lead. Have owned my own company before, been a software manager before. Basically, I'd take that job at Wal-Mart if it paid! Everytime I go in there I loath that guy that gets to stand and greet people all day - go home and couldn't care less if the store made money, if he looked a little cranky on 2-3 occasions, or if the next person made it after his shift was over. He just walked out and went home. I haven't done that for nearly 20 years.

I hear ya mike, i think its an IT thing. i'm a sys admin at a manufacturing plant and put in a ton of long hours and weekends and such. i'm sometimes a little envious of the people that just drop everything, no matter what they are in the middle of, at the end of their shift and go home. ah, the joys of being a salaried employee

i refuse to get embroiled in anything, that i cannot drop like a ball with shit on it!

unfortunately its the field i chose. i dont work in a 9-5 industry, for the most part its 24/7. luckily its 9-5 for me most of the time as we have a pretty stable environment.

^ ha, well something's gotta pay for all the fancy new snowboarding equipment, trips and (let's not forget) the bills :P

the goal is to find something that you don't mind doing while being able to make the money you wanna make... if either of those two is off, you need a change.
