Official Star Wars thread:

I remember going to the theater with my Dad to see the original. Playing with action figures that I snuck into school. Who would've thunk it would be where it is today. I don't go out to the movies very often.......but I think I'll have to see this at a theater. I'm a little jelly of the son......he's going today with a buddy. So who's seen it and what did you think?

I'm gonna wait till the crowds die down. I can't stand going to the movies in a packed theater. People get on my nerves and I can't focus.

Went last night it was incredible. Perfect balance of nostalgia and new character development. The Kylo Ren character was a little underwhelming in my opinion but other than that I can honestly say it met and exceeded my expectations. I would rank it third best of all the star wars movies (in order: Empire, A New Hope, Force Awakens, Return then the prequels fall somewhere after) but it may still be from initial exposure shock that its that high well worth it though I won't say more I do not want to spoil it

Can't believe this thread isn't more active... it's Star Wars! lol

I loved Episode 7. For those who have seen it, who is Rey? What are your theories?

Took me a minute to see it till last week finally, went to back to back 11p shows at the beer theater.

Pretty stoked, not too much to say. The plot and writing were a little oversimplified for me, but to be fair that isn't a departure from the originals(just sort of surprised that with all the resources available a little more sandpaper wasn't taken to the script). Pretty much my only complaint. Poe Dameron is awesome, just watched Ex Machina (which is awesome btw) last night, Oscar Isaac is a force of acting.

I've seen it twice so far. I really enjoyed it. Complaints? Maybe 20 seconds too long. Poe and Finn acting like BFFs, and Finn going from Stormtrooper to bro instantaneously. " Did you see that?!" And yes, I get it, gotta make it somewhat relatable for the kids.

My theory on Rey: She is Luke's daughter. Though, past stories have had Leia and Han as having twins, but their reaction to meeting her and referring to her as "the girl" made me think things were switched up in this story. Seems as if Luke ditched her when he went to train Ben (Kylo). He never went back for her because he went into Jedi remorse mode. My questions is, why do all Jedi masters feel so guilty and go into seclusion?

Rey being lukes daughter just seems so obvious though. I mean from the first time you see her it just screams, 'I'm Lukes daughter'.. There has to be some sort of twist in there, at least I hope.

Having a daughter in the first place is a big jedi no no. It always perfect sense to take these really powerful people and make them mental by forbidding them a bit of tail.

Maybe she's like Anakin and is a sort of midiclorian/virgin birth type deal where Luke/Leia found her when he was searching for new padawans to restore the Jedi order.

Or she could just be a normal person strong with the force, known to them, but they were never able to get to her before shit went south with Luke/Kylo...

Although I'm rethinking these options since the force is clearly awakening in her at the time of the movie (title) as well as the Dark side bad guys are remarking on feeling the "awakening in the force"....

I think she's Obi Wan's granddaughter. Like him, she picked up the Jedi mind tricks pretty quick, dresses like him, and her lightsaber belonged to him before he gave to Vader/Anakin. She being Luke's daughter is way too obvious, there has to be something different than that.

I am totally in love with Daisy Ridley.
