she bought into her own hype and didn't learn from the holly holm fight that she has a massive weakness wrt striking and that nunes was all about the striking. she did a lot for the ufc, but if she quits it would probably be taken negatively.
this is kinda what happened in the early ufc, it was style vs style. this led to fighters being very one dimensional, once that started to change a lot of the older people couldn't cut it with the newer breed of fighters. nowadays it has moved on even further (rory mcdonald is a new breed of mma fighter, all about one style ie mma ... not one style or a hodgepodge of two or more). maybe this is the first stage of this happening with women's mma, which would be great as we all want to see more skilled and back/forth fights than lay and pray or one sided stompings (at least that's the way i see it)?
