Today I love the fact that I just saw a monkey and an impala (not the Chevy variety either) at work, and I definitely do not work at a zoo. Awesome

I'd love a 100 hour week. I work 16 hours a day, 7 days a week for 10 weeks straight. On top of that I'm in the middle of the Congo, I haven't eaten anything except chicken and rice since I've been here, I haven't taken a solid shit for 3 weeks, half our blokes have malaria so it's only a matter of time until I get it and our site is guarded by the most unreliable army in the world with the most reliable machine gun in the world.

BUT... Deacon hit the nail on the head. 100 hour a week paychecks make it all worthwhile.

Is that mining or O&G? What site? 10 week roster must be brutal, i was looking into a 6/3 or 6/2 in Sierra Leone...

Underground mining mate (I'm a Mining Engineer). I work for an Aussie contractor, we're developing an underground gold mine and it's pretty much the only one in the Congo so I'll let you figure it out I'm not big on putting my company's name or the client's out there over the net. PM if you're really interested.

10 weeks is a bit shite but my official roster is 6/3 which isn't too bad, things just change for me as work requires. All of our guys work 6/3 as well. Sierra Leone is not bad either apart from the whole Ebola thing happening at the moment. The DRC is fine though.
