I've read some about this. To be honest, it's probably not a good thing for Colorado. There are just too many people living in this state. Look at the issues ranchers and such have with Wolves in Montana and around Wyoming. You're going to have 10x the problem around here. They've also talked about re-introducing the Grizzly too. Neither one of them is going to happen.

If a part of the food chain is removed, everything else is soon affected. How is this not clear?

I know the CO Division of Wildlife has no official stance on the reintroduction of wolves in CO and openly opposes the reintroduction of grizzlies in CO. I'm divided on the issue. I haven't done enough research to develop an educated opinion. Back east I've seen red wolf reintroduction fail in the Great Smokies in TN and be wildly successful along the Alligator River in NC. But, the red wo?f and the gray wolf are completely different beasts. As far as size goes, red wolves are comparable to a coyote where as a big male wolf can push 150 pounds.

There's never been a documented case of a healthy wolf attacking a human being in North America. Period. I've got no idea what the cattle situation in Colorado is.

Meeting an angry grizzly bear on the other hand... well, that's not gonna be a good day for anyone, particularly the bear.

I am hopeful. I worked for lissa once and what she wants usually happens. Her dad was a genius & she may be smarter. With her support I'm very hopeful!

If you go about outdoors, you should arleady have a large calibur handgun. Not for Wolves though, you actually need it for Bears, Cougars and most of all for fucked up people.

Wolves do not attack human beings. This is a myth and it is big part of why man has nearly wiped out the Wolves in our race to totally fuck up this planet. I am working with a group to get the Grey Wolf re introduced into Washington State. our governor is is supportive as are most people. The only resistance comes from the ranchers.

In Arizona, there has been a slow, but successful re introduction of the Mexican Wolf in the White Mountains.

I fully understand their position, but up here, there is enough wilderness area in the Cascades to accommodate both the wolf and man. The Wolf preservation group I work with also raises money that will be used to compensate a rancher who looses any livestock to a wolf attack.

In Montana, it is the Grizzly that is the ranchers` biggest head aches, not the Wolves. I love the short sighted foolishness of people. It is our urban sprawl and over population that is the problem. We spread across the land like a cancer and wildlife`s environment shrinks. Predators like this are being encroached upon and it creates conflict. Rather than be responsible to the planet, our answer has always been to wipe other species out.

Because of us, the planet is experiencing species loss at a rate much greater than the extinction rate 65 million years ago when the dinosaurs all bought the farm. We are the problem, not the Wolves!
