I had it done 4 years ago. The difference is night and day, my vision is still 20/20, and my only regret was not getting it done sooner

Surgery on folks with large dark pupil diameters lead to the halo around lights at night, and in extreme cases render you totally unable to drive at night. Do your homework then make a decision. If you ask the guy at the laser place for his opinion, he's always going to tell you you're a candidate even if you've had both your eyes gouged out in a North Korean prison - he stands to make money afterall.

Not to be one to put cold water on things, but just to let you know that there is sometimes two sides to each story.
A young lady I knew had it done, she was given drops to use after the srugery, well the drops didn't suit her and she didn't get good follow up. She has now lost almost all her sight and is now legally blind. She went from being a very active, fit police officer in her mid 20's to a person with a white cane and no career. Just make sure whoever does it, has lots of experience. If any after treatment isn't making you feel happy go back, go back immediately and get it looked at. You only got one set of eyes. I use glasses, I don't legally need them for driving, but get real tired real quick and can't read number plates without them. I am considering Lasik as well, but making sure I get the right person first. Good Luck if you decide to go ahead with it. CM Australia |

Yep I had it done. My scrip was L -8.5 R -7.7 After having it done I am now L -.2 R -.01. I don't need glasses or contacts any more and I can actually see what I'm doing now. Before I used to complain that morning sex sucked because I didn't have my contacts in and couldn't see the girl, or I was always worried that if I ever got lost in the backcountry and had to survive for a few days my contact lenses drying out would make that very painful and difficult.

I did it over 10 years ago. I've tested it on the slopes, in the dojo, and in the office. I really haven't had any problems.
However, do your homework. Whoever does your surgery should be doing lots and lots of them. The doc who did mine probably did 60+ surgeries that day. Someone else did everything except the surgery. I knew at least 5 or 6 people who had used the place. It was incredible. Without it, I don't think I could snowboard. My vision was horrendous...coke bottle glasses and contacts wouldn't work.
