Default I want to talk about food...

Because I love food.

This was dinner tonight:

I already ate a part of that one at the bottom there...

Handmade ravioli filled with caramelized onions and goat cheese, lightly pan fried in butter, topped with parmesan. Also worth noting, I found golden beets at the store and put those in the salad. VERY exciting.

My sister got me a ravioli press for Christmas, so we had to try it out. I am a 1950s dream wife. I can cook your face off. I don't clean, though... Oh well. 1 out of 2 ain't bad.

Looks good, but I can't even think about food after the stuffing I took over the weekend.

boneless chicken tenders marinated in some italian dressing in the oven = deliciousness

nothing beats desserts right out of the oven (brownies, chocolate cake or chocolate chip cookies)

Homemade ravs! damn they sound good.

How you make the dough?

I'm all about cooking too. Might as well eat the best I can while I'm alive and making my own food. This year I did the bacon wrapped turkey, pretty deadly.

I also grow my own japs!

I'm on a chipotle kick recently. Love the smokey flavor.

Also, I'm a butcher. So makes getting good cuts easy.

My entire family (including extended) got a GI virus after the Christmas celebration.

I hate you all.

A lunch I had a few days ago at the mall. I dare anyone to not get hungry after seeing this:

Chicken, mashed potatos, mac and cheese, fried rice

I eyeball the measurements at this point, but a couple recipes I've seen say 1 3/4 cups flour to 2 eggs, and then water as needed to bring it together. Sometimes I use more egg because it makes it taste really good, and the texture is nice. But you just knead the dough until it is pliable, and then I run it through a pasta roller attachment for a Kitchen Aid mixer. Easy peasy.

I'm also loving chipotle lately. I might try to make my own sauce for sliders. MMmm. I'm hungry.

Im also all about warm desserts. I just got a new dessert cookbook. All desserts. All day. It's all I can do not to eat the pages. I made a questionable crepe Suzette the other night. The crepes came out great, the Suzette portion, not so much.

My lunch today, simple ham and cheese omelet. When I whip the eggs I add Parmesan cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Colby cheddar, and left over x-mas ham cubed. MMMHHMMMM!!!
