Back in the gym, close to 10yrs off....

Well,

My wife and kids got a gym membership. I figured it's time to start going to help motivate my boy and guide him in his football workouts. I haven't been in a gym for a very long time, martial arts training maybe 5 years off. Man I need this too.

Did cardio, and a full body circuit followed by a protein shake.

Time to get back into shape and be ready for riding in 6 months

If you went straight into a full workout your first time back, I'm thinking it'll be six months before you can bend your arms and legs again.

Ya Donutz I dove right in. I didn't go heavy as I didn't know where I would be poundage wise so I just did a simple pyramid routine. Some were super lite so I adjusted and started over.

My job is very physical so I am not totally out of shape. I feel fine and didn't over do it. Still a shock to the muscles hahahaha

I have a feeling you'll probably be hurtin a little day after tomorrow. Good luck with that

Seriously though, I was amazed at how much better shape I was in after riding so much this winter... I don't know what I'm going to do to stay in shape this summer so I'm not totally fat and lazy by the time next season rolls around. I suck at the gym thing

You got $900 I can have? I can't afford the summer pass right now and theres about a 50% chance I'll be gone two months of summer anyway...the two months right after I might have money haha

I am going up when I can, enough to make the rest of the country jealous but not enough to keep me in shape at all haha

This thread reminds me that I need to go renew my YMCA membership. The occasional hike and constant BMXing just isn't enough to keep me at a reasonable weight. I like food to much.

Oh yeah!? Well, my mom says I'm cool!

^ I heard that you can get yourself clean, have a good meal and do what ever you feel, at the YMCA.

Well not sore just tired but I'm always tired. Going to the Chiropractor but my back was sore before the workout. I used to be a solid 205lb I miss those days. I just don't have the time nor money to do that again plus 15yrs on the body, I don't think I can carry that weight and do my job without something letting go. Looks like lean and mean if I can get back into the groove. Time will still be an issue, 50+ hours at work, house work, kids sports, gotta throw sleep in there somewhere.

So we'll see where this leads me, if nothing else I need the cardio, that's for sure.
