I drive a 2k8 Tundra double cab, with the 5.7 V8 4x4. I love it, it's the big brother to the Tacoma. Stock it has 381 hp, it has more power then I need. It's great for driving in the mountains. It eats gas, but has always got me thru any snow conditions. When I live in Syracuse, NY I put 700lbs of sandbags in the bed and never really had to even use 4wd. Now that I'm back in VA, I don't use the sand anymore I just put it in 4wd when I'm in the mountains and there is snow. I've driven down unplowed roads with snow over the bumper of the car and it did just fine. Another vote for Toyota!

You can't beat a Taco.... Put oil in it, do the regular maintenance and drive. They don't break....

And I've got 30k miles on my Goodyear wrangler dura trac tires and they're at half tread. Show me a better tire for the price.

Also, if anybody has any more tire suggestions I would love to hear them.

Thanks

Treadwright makes a good tire for a great price. They make re tread tires off of goodyear and BF Goodrich tread patterns. I have the BFG copies, called the Warden A/Ts in a 31x10.5. They even grind in bits of glass and walnut shells into the tread if you decide to go with the kedge grip for better ice/snow traction.

Only downsize is that theyre lacking in sizes for 15" rims, but have tons for 16's. Goodyear Duratracs, general grabber at2s and BFG AT KO are also good choices.

my dad sold me his 2006 F-150 xlt 4x4 super cheap and then bought a Tacoma for better gas mileage. It has to be a 2009 i'd imagine and now he wants to get an F-150 again.

it's gotta be close to fully loaded. reverse camera, 4 door cab, short bed. pretty perfect for board trips.

maybe he'll sell it to ya cheap

I am a huge Taco fan, but right now, my baby is my Chevy. It feels like a tank and there isn't anything I can't handle in it.

just bought this beautiful machine today (yes i know its in the vehicle thread but i put it here too because its tacoma specific)

i had to sell my other 2wd taco to pay for this one but its alright, i love this thing to death and i absolutely can't wait to get out and really using it. This has got to be the one of the best decisions i have made, to sell my super low mileage 2wd for a 122k 4x4 taco. When the weather sucks and the shit hits the fan and there is a white out blizzard and there is a foot of snow on the ground...it will most likely be me, my go for it attitude and my taco charging forward. This truck will certainly be my shred mobile

my dad has a stock 07 4dr 4x4 f-150, and my stock Tacoma has about 2" more ground clearence at the frame, and 3" more at the t-case protector plate, and his tires are even a few inches taller. i found that pretty funny

Nice little truck man!

Anything is better than a Subi. I think you're required to have a lobotomy to drive one here in CO. Seems like everyone who has one drives like a fucking moron.

Here's my Tahoe:
